Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve
Taken from the book of Joshua Chapter 24 verse 15
There is an interesting enigma that confronts you already on your journey. Even though you have been predestined for good, the heart of that very process lies in the decisions that you make. Your predetermined path is clearly traced out in the decisions that you make and this has to be so in order to maintain the value of the choices that you make and have made. Even though you are unable to go into the past and undo choices that you have made you can however create a new future by the decisions and the choices that you make now.
Many paths stretch out before you, each path representing a choice that you can make. Perhaps up to this point many of your life decisions have been made based upon the expectations of others or the responsibilities of the position in life you fill be it son or daughter, husband or wife, friend or associate. By getting off the merry go round of seeking to please others you honor yourself as highly as them and you chart the course best determined for you by living in accordance with your highest and grandest of ideals.
It is a mistake to believe that how you have been is how you will always be. Determine now to be free and unfettered in determining your life choices, bound only by a commitment to always do that which is most pleasing to your spirit. Every moment you have is steeped in the eternal for each moment affords you the opportunity to transcend what you have been in order to move in the direction of what you strive to be.
Even the simplest of acts such as greeting a passerby contains within it the seeds of the transcendent for each act, no matter how simple is an expression of who you are and what you are striving to become. Reflect now on where you sense God leading you to go and begin living that new life in everything that you do and the choices that you make.
